THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST + JUNE 14, 2009
On the Way....
The December 2008 ice storm continues to impact us six months later. Our parishioners in the school system will be at their desks later than usual this year. And since different supervisors sought to address the issue in different ways, there will be graduations throughout the month of June. So we will take this occasion to congratulate all of those graduates from Elementary Schools and High Schools and add our applause to those who graduated from different colleges last month. Education is something we value deeply, not just for the opportunities it gives us for employment, but also in the search for knowledge and truth.
Also On the Way.... The Saturday evening Mass at 6 pm at St. Paul Church, Candia is suspended until next Fall.
Also On the Way.... the Office of the Bishop has contacted the New Hampshire of Health and Human Services. They have advised that precautions continue in our churches against Virus-A H1N1.
WEEKLY OFFERTORY: $4,563.
PETER’S PENCE: Next week our parish will take up the Peter’s Pence Collection. This Collection allows the Holy Father to cast the light of Christ upon the world by providing emergency assistance to those who need it most around the globe. Please be generous in next week’s Peter’s Pence Collection.
SACRIFICIAL GIVING: The focus of today’s feast is the total self-giving of Jesus. The bishops’ stewardship pastoral reminds us that "the glory and the boast of Christian stewards lie in mirroring, however poorly, the stewardship of Jesus Christ, who gave and still gives all He has and is, in order to be faithful to God’s will and carry through to completion His redemptive stewardship of human beings and their world".
BAPTISMS: Last Sunday, June 7, at the 11:00 am Mass, we welcomed twins Maria Therese Thompson and Mary Eva Thompson, daughters of Mark and Christine, into the parish community of St. Peter through the Sacrament of Baptism.
WELCOME TO NEWLY-REGISTERED PARISHIONERS Ronald and Doris Stacy; Georgette Blanchette.
GROUP WORK CAMP NEWS:
(1) Many thanks to all who supported our bake sale last weekend. We raised $652.75
(2) We will have one more meeting for GWC on Friday, June 19th, at 7:00 pm, in the Parish Hall, to make our final arrangements for our trip.
(3) Group Work Campers will attend the 4:00 pm Mass on Saturday, June 27th, and receive a blessing as we head to Port Jervis, NY, for a week of community service. We could not have made this trip without the awesome support of our parish. Thank you so much.
ORGANIST NEEDED: We are in search of an organist to help at weekend Masses. This is a paid position. Mrs. Helene Belanger, our regular organist, usually plays at 2 Masses per weekend. If you or anyone you know can step in, please let me know. There will be training and assistance from Mrs. Belanger
PLEASE REMEMBER IN YOUR PRAYERS those who died last week, and especially long-time parishioner Gabrielle Lessard, and Cecile Poirier, sister of Alice Laliberte of this parish.

CHRISTIAN FORMATION NEWS
All children from K–10 must register for the Fall Christian Formation program each year. The registration does not roll over from one year to the next. Registration forms can be found at the entrances to church, on the back porch of the rectory, or at our website - www.stpeteraub.org . If your child is new to the program, please submit a Baptism Certificate, if not baptized at St. Peter Church. If you would like to volunteer to help with any of the following, please call Jake at 669-5134 and he will be in touch with you.
Grades K- 3 The children in grades K–3 attend classes during the weekend liturgies. We use a Lectionary Catechesis which is based on the Gospel of the week. Kindergarten students are not obliged to attend regularly. However, beginning with grade 1, students must attend classes on a weekly basis during the Mass, as the program for First Communion is a two-year program. The program for the school year 2009-2010 will begin on the weekend of September 26/27. Classes are held during all weekend Masses.
Generations of Faith: Grades 4–10 and parents. This program is designed for both parents and children. Parents who have children in grades 4-10 are asked to attend these monthly sessions. The adult session gives them an opportunity to refresh their memory on important matters of the faith as well as giving them the chance to share with other adults on pertinent issues of faith. GOF classes are held one Sunday a month from 4–6 pm. Our first session for 2009-10 is October 18. See you all next fall.
Confirmation Program: The Confirmation students will begin their two-year program on Sunday, October 4, 2009. Students are asked to attend the 11:00 am Mass, and class follows until 1:00 pm. Students must be registered in the program and must be registered members of the parish.
The Thomas More College invites Juniors and Seniors to participate in the 34th Collegiate Summer Program. Students will study Literature, Philosophy, Political Science, and Apologetics as well as make day trips to Mt. Monadnock, York Beach, and Boston. There will also be Mass and daily rosary. Sessions run from July 12-25 and July 26-August 8. Call (800) 880-8308, e-mail admissions@thomasmorecollege.edu , or visit our website at www.thomasmorecollege.edu for more information.

First Reading: Exodus 24: 3 - 8
Second Reading: Hebrews 9: 11 - 15
Gospel: Mark 14: 12 - 16, 22 - 26
No matter how much we speak about the Eucharist, we could never exhaust the topic. Eucharist is a gift (we give ourselves to God and God gives himself to us). It is a meal (re-presenting the meal of the Last Supper). It is a sacrifice (an unbloody re- presentation of the cross). It is the real presence of Jesus in His body and blood. It is also a promise of even more intimate union in the future.
CATHOLIC SCHOOLS: Throughout the year we receive forms from Catholic Schools regarding subsidizing students from our parish. The policy of the Diocese is as follows:
"In order for a family to receive a supported tuition rate for the next school year, the parents must meet the following requirements:
1) be registered in this parish2) be a contributor of record (weekly envelopes) in this parish
3) active participation in the life of this parish.
In other words, if you were not registered in the last year or did not contribute through the envelope system on a regular basis to the support of the parish, the pastor cannot sign the form from the school. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but it is the policy of the Diocese of Manchester.
