THE MOST HOLY TRINITY + JUNE 7, 2009
On the Way....
For the past six years that I have been with you at St. Peter, there has always been one of the Karpinski sisters playing the organ at one of the weekend Masses. I remember Cassandra, the eldest, full of talent and personality. Since her untimely death it seems I see her in her sisters, and pray for her as I glance to my left at the organ bench. Olivia stepped up to the plate when Cassandra went to college, and now the third and last of the trio, Andrea, is graduating from high school and on to college in August. St. Peter Church will miss "the Little One" as her Dad calls her. And we thank her for sharing her talent with us.
So this means that we are in search of an organist to help at weekend Masses. This is a paid position. Mrs. Helene Belanger, our regular organist, usually plays at 2 Masses per weekend. If you or anyone you know can step in, please let me know. There will be training and assistance from Mrs. Belanger.
Also On the Way.... the Office of the Bishop has contacted the New Hampshire of Health and Human Services. They have advised that precautions continue in our churches against Virus-A H1N1.

CHRISTIAN FORMATION NEWS
All children from K–10 must register for the Fall Christian Formation program each year. The registration does not roll over from one year to the next. Registration forms can be found at the entrances to church, on the back porch of the rectory, or at our website - www.stpeteraub.org . If your child is new to the program, please submit a Baptism Certificate, if not baptized at St. Peter Church. If you would like to volunteer to help with any of the following, please call Jake at 669-5134 and he will be in touch with you.
Grades K- 3 The children in grades K–3 attend classes during the weekend liturgies. We use a Lectionary Catechesis which is based on the Gospel of the week. Kindergarten students are not obliged to attend regularly. However, beginning with grade 1, students must attend classes on a weekly basis during the Mass, as the program for First Communion is a two-year program. The program for the school year 2009-2010 will begin on the weekend of September 26/27. Classes are held during all weekend Masses.
Generations of Faith: Grades 4–10 and parents. This program is designed for both parents and children. Parents who have children in grades 4-10 are asked to attend these monthly sessions. The adult session gives them an opportunity to refresh their memory on important matters of the faith as well as giving them the chance to share with other adults on pertinent issues of faith. GOF classes are held one Sunday a month from 4–6 pm. Our first session for 2009-10 is October 18. See you all next fall.
Confirmation Program: The Confirmation students will begin their two-year program on Sunday, October 4, 2009. Students are asked to attend the 11:00 am Mass, and class follows until 1:00 pm. Students must be registered in the program and must be registered members of the parish.

REFLECTION OF THE WEEK
First Reading: Deuteronomy 4:32-34,
39, 40
Second Reading: Romans 8:14 - 17
Gospel: Matthew 28:16 - 20
This passage is the conclusion to the Gospel of Matthew. It is a type of commissioning of the apostles to proclaim the good news to the ends of the earth.
There are several important themes found in these verses that are repeated throughout the Gospel (especially in the chapters of teaching, e.g., the Sermon on the Mount).
Jesus has the authority of God and hands it on to His disciples. He sends them out to every nation and they are to preach and bring people to conversion. They are to baptize in the name of the Holy Trinity. Christians are called to lives of obedience. Finally, Jesus will always be with them until the end of time.
FROM RESPECT LIFE: "Stem cell research opens new prospects for regenerative medicine and is morally permissible when it uses stem cells taken from adult organisms, but not when it takes cells from human embryos because that invariably causes their death." (The Dignity of a Person, Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith, 12/2008)
The Sisters of Holy Cross will be having a Garage Sale on Saturday, June 20th from 8 am to 1 pm at 357 Island Pond Road in Manchester. There will be treasures for all ages. Come and see!
